Kuranda Riverboat Tour

The Kuranda Riverboat Tour is a relaxing and informative cruise on the Barron River, which is bordered by World Heritage listed Wet Tropics Rainforest. This rainforest is home to many rare and endangered plants and animals, some of which are found no where else on earth. The river itself is home to a host of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, turtles, water dragons and fish. In the rainforest surrounds, which grow right down to the riverbank, you might see a Southern Cassowary and array of tropical birds and butterflies. While the views are amazing, it’s the commentary that brings the landscape to life, providing you with an insight into the life cycles and rhythms of the rainforest’s many plants and animals. The skipper also talks about the history of Kuranda and is, of course, available to answer all of your questions.

The Kuranda Riverboat Tour lasts 45-minutes and operates 5 times daily, 7 days a week. It’s suitable for people of all ages and fantastic for families. The MV Kuranda provides comfortable, covered open-air seating, and takes a maximum of 30 guests with lots of wonderful photo opportunities. If you want to further enhance your discovery of this area of natural beauty, add the 60-minute Paradise Kuranda Guided Rainforest Walk, to your Kuranda Riverboat Tour. Please note the Kuranda Riverboat Tours start at a jetty on the Barron River; you can not access this by vehicle. Guests should cross the aerial walkway over the Kuranda Scenic Railway tracks and descend the steps to the river, where you will see the jetty and red flags of the Kuranda Riverboat Tour.
