The owners of Emu Ridge Gallery, Chris Maaten and Shane Hebbard, are local gem specialists and passionate about fossicking and exploring the gem fields of North Queensland, Australia and the world. Beyond the sparkling stones and beautiful collection of jewellery, gifts and souvenirs, Emu Ridge also has a Gemstone and Fossil Museum, which features an extensive array of specimens.

The star attraction of the museum must surely be the life size, 9m long Allosaurus Dinosaur skeleton, which stands proudly guarding the staircase entry to the museum below. In fact, this is the only skeleton of its kind in Queensland, and people of all ages are drawn to its presence. Emu Ridge Gallery is located at the front of the Kuranda Original Rainforest Markets, which is located on Therwine Street, Kuranda.
